Pasadena Auto Protection Warranty Plans

When a major part gives out, an auto protection warranty helps cover the repair so one breakdown does not sink your budget. We go through the plans with you, explain what each one pays for and give you an honest answer on whether your vehicle is worth protecting.

What an Auto Protection Warranty Does

An auto protection warranty is a vehicle service contract. It pays for repairs to the parts listed in the plan after your factory warranty runs out. It is not car insurance. It does not cover crashes, theft or hail. It covers parts that wear out or fail on their own, like a water pump, a transmission or an A/C compressor.

Our approach is simple. Most cars with good miles left are cheaper to fix than to replace. A failed transmission is a big bill, but it is still smaller than a down payment and years of car notes. A protection plan turns that one big bill into steady monthly payments you can plan around.

Sometimes the honest answer is no. If your car has a rusted frame, a long list of problems already or miles that put it near the end, we will tell you to save that money for your next vehicle. You get the same straight answer either way.

What Protection Plans Can Pay For

Engine and transmission
On most cars, trucks and SUVs, these parts cost the most to fix. Almost every plan we compare covers them first, including internal lubricated parts such as gears, pistons and the crankshaft.
AC and cooling
Long Texas summers push radiators, compressors and water pumps hard. Upper plan levels include them, and many drivers find these are the first repairs they need.
Steering and electrical
Mid and top level plans add parts like starters, alternators, window motors and power steering pumps. We show you which ones each plan names and which it skips.
Roadside assistance included
Roadside assistance covered under warranty comes with our plans. If your vehicle stops running, you can get a tow, a jump start or help with a flat.
Monthly payments
We set up coverage with flexible payment options. Rather than paying for the full term at once, you can spread the cost across monthly payments.

Signs It Is Time to Look at Coverage

  • Your factory warranty just ended

Once the maker's coverage is gone, every repair comes out of your pocket. This is often the best time to set up a plan, before anything starts to go.

  • You plan to keep the car for years

If you like your vehicle and want to drive it until the wheels fall off, coverage helps you keep fixing it instead of trading it in.

  • A big repair would empty your savings

Ask yourself what happens if a shop quotes you a few thousand dollars tomorrow. If the answer is a credit card or a loan, a plan is worth a look.

  • The miles are climbing fast

Long commutes and family trips add up. Higher mileage means more wear on the engine, transmission and cooling system.

  • You own a model known for costly parts

Some trucks and SUVs have parts that cost far more than average. We can tell you if your make tends to run up big repair bills.

How It Works When You Call

  1. 1

    Tell us about your vehicle

We ask the year, make, model and mileage, plus how you drive it. Ten minutes on the phone is usually enough. You can also come to our office or talk by video.

  2. 2

    We line up your options

You hear about two or three plans and the parts each one lists. We flag the exclusions and any waiting period before coverage kicks in, so the fine print does not catch you later.

  3. 3

We give you an honest call

If your car is a good candidate, we say so. If replacing it makes more sense, we say that too, and you owe us nothing.

  4. 4

Pick a plan and set payments

Choose the coverage that fits and the payment schedule that works for you. We go over how to keep your maintenance records, since most plans ask for them.

  5. 5

    When something breaks

Take your vehicle to the shop and have them contact the plan before starting work. The plan approves the covered repair and you pay your deductible, if your plan has one.

What Sets the Cost of Coverage

Every plan is priced to the vehicle it covers. A neighbor's sedan and your pickup will get different numbers, even under the same plan name. These are the main things that set your cost, and we go over each one with you on the phone.

Age and mileage
Older cars with more miles cost more to cover because parts are closer to failing. Newer vehicles usually get lower monthly payments.
Make and model
A compact sedan with common parts costs less to cover than a luxury SUV or a diesel truck with pricey components.
How much you cover
A basic powertrain plan costs less than one that adds A/C, electrical and steering. We help you pick the level that matches the repairs you are most likely to face.
Deductible and term
A higher deductible lowers your payment but means more out of pocket per repair. Longer terms cost more overall but cover you for more years.

Questions About Auto Protection Warranties

Something not covered here? (832) 412-3559

Is this the same thing as car insurance?

No. Insurance pays for damage from storms, theft and crashes. A protection warranty pays when parts wear out and fail by themselves. Since they cover different things, many drivers have both.

Does a plan cover a problem I already have?

No. Problems present before coverage begins are not covered, which is why many plans have a brief waiting period. If your car is already making a worrying noise, have it checked and repaired, then look into coverage.

Can my regular mechanic do the work?

Most plans let you choose the shop, including the one you already use. Before any work begins, the shop calls the plan to get approval. We confirm this for every plan we show you.

Is an old car worth covering?

Age alone does not decide it. A high-mileage truck that has been cared for can still be a good candidate. A car with many existing problems usually is not, and we will tell you if that money would do more toward your next vehicle.

Should I hold on to my service records?

Yes. Most plans want proof of routine maintenance such as oil changes. Keep the receipts in a folder or the glove box. When you file a claim, those records help it get approved without trouble.

How do I choose among your three plans?

It depends on how old your vehicle is and which repairs concern you most. Car Extended Warranty and Auto Repair Warranty each have a page that explains who they are for. On the phone, we put all three side by side, show where the covered parts differ and leave the choice to you.
